Marina Abromovic - The Artist is Present

A few years ago I went to see Marina Abromovic perform at the Guggenheim. She stood wearing a huge dress that married the interior structure of the Frank Lloyd Building. She mostly stood balancing herself on the center of the cone silently for hours as we all sat on the lobby floor and watched her.

There are people that purposely throw themselves in challenging situations to test their strength, but Marina simply stood silently at the center of this costume like structure and it was the greatest test of endurance I had ever seen.

So to sum it up if you want to see performance art where someone is testing their endurance in interesting ways (warning there may be naked people) go see Marina Abromovic's exhibition " The Artist is Present" at the MOMA.
March 14th - March 31st.
